Kinmen Airport to Jincheng: check the destination and the route colour

For a bus into Jincheng in 2026, start with Blue 1 and route 3, choosing the Jincheng-bound direction. A taxi or a confirmed accommodation pickup may be more practical with luggage, a hotel away from the bus station or a long wait after landing.

Do not reduce the route name to “number 1.” Blue 1 and Red 1 are distinct services, and Jincheng and Shanwai are different destinations. Show 金城車站 for Jincheng Bus Station or your hotel’s complete address when asking for help.

Choice What to look for Important distinction
Blue 1 Airport→Jincheng adult full fare NT$24 Not interchangeable with Red 1
Route 3 Airport→Jincheng adult full fare NT$24; verify the airport call Runs via Zhushan and has an airport-skipping exception
Taxi Your hotel address and the charging arrangement Jincheng is an area, not every hotel’s doorstep
Accommodation pickup Confirmed flight, meeting point and cost Not automatically included with every room

Where to find the airport bus

The airport’s bus location page places the stop to the right, or east, of the arrivals exit. Follow the bus signs after collecting your bags, then read the route and destination on the stop.

In local bus information, the airport appears as 民航站, the civil aviation station. Open the county’s live bus system and check the Jincheng direction. If the display says Shanwai, do not assume it is a convenient substitute for a direct ride to Jincheng.

    Use the current county timetable

The county timetable updated October 1, 2026 lists Blue 1 via the airport and Taiwu Park, route 3 via Zhushan and the airport, and Red 1 separately as a trunk service. Older airport translations or articles mentioning Red 1 and 1A should not replace that route-level check.

The 06:00 origin departure on route 3 carries an asterisk indicating that it skips the airport. This matters on your flight home: finding an early route 3 bus is not enough unless that particular journey calls at the airport.

Timetable entries are origin departures. The airport is an intermediate stop, so use live arrivals to estimate when the bus reaches you. Do not stand at the airport expecting the bus at the exact time it leaves Jincheng or Shanwai.

    Fare and journey time

For boarding at 民航站 (the airport) and alighting at 金城站 (Jincheng), the county’s current stop-pair fare is NT$24 for an ordinary adult on both Jincheng-bound Blue 1 and route 3. NT$12 is a single-section price, not the full airport-to-Jincheng charge on these two routes. Other stops and concession categories differ.

Blue 1 examples leave Shanwai at 08:30, 09:30 and 10:30; route 3 examples leave at 08:00, 09:00 and 10:00. These show the roughly hourly gaps on each route, but they are not airport departure times. After collecting your bags, check arrivals for the airport’s actual stop.

When both buses are approaching, compare the destination and remaining route: 3 runs via Zhushan, while Blue 1 follows its own stop pattern. A direct car journey can be shorter. The tourism listing for IN99 Hotel on Minsheng Road gives about 10 minutes by car from the airport. That is a specific central address, not a promise for every hotel; baggage reclaim and waiting are additional.

After arriving at Jincheng Bus Station

The bus station is a useful interchange, but it is not the entrance to every accommodation in Jincheng. Compare your hotel’s location with the stop, particularly with large bags or in poor weather. If you will need a taxi after the bus anyway, compare the complete trip with a direct airport ride.

For a booked transfer, provide the flight number, full destination, passenger count and luggage dimensions. Discuss child seats or mobility equipment before paying. A general airport-pickup offer does not establish that every vehicle can meet your needs.

Shuitou Pier is a separate connection

The airport’s transport guidance describes transferring at Jincheng for the Shuitou Pier bus connection. Do not treat routes 7, 7A or 7B as another name for a direct airport-to-Jincheng service.

If you are continuing to a ferry, plan around its own check-in point and deadline. This arrival guide covers the road journey to town; ferry schedules, travel documents and border procedures need their own checks. Knowing the bus connection does not guarantee a flight-to-ferry itinerary will work.

    Return flights and delayed arrivals

For the journey home, work backward from the airline’s check-in requirement and choose a bus that actually serves the airport. Include waiting and a road buffer. Arrange a vehicle in advance if the suitable bus departures do not fit.

Fog and other weather can disrupt flights. Verify the flight status before changing pickup plans, then contact your provider. Ask about waiting limits, extra charges and cancellation rules before booking; a pickup is not an unlimited free-waiting agreement.

    A few practical questions

Are Blue 1 and Red 1 the same?

No. The current county timetable lists them separately.

Can I use the 06:00 route 3 for the airport?

The current table marks that origin departure as skipping the airport.

Are the timetable times airport arrivals?

Not necessarily. They are origin departures; use live information for the airport stop.

Are 7, 7A and 7B direct airport buses?

The airport describes them as part of the Shuitou connection with a change at Jincheng.
