Luodong’s 2025 celebration suited visitors who want a local Christmas celebration without a long transfer after dinner. The parade finished at Zhongshan Park, beside the night-market area. Follow the procession if the community performances are your priority; choose the park as your base if you are travelling with small children or mainly want the tree.
The historical season: December 17, 2025
Luodong Township and the Yilan Full Gospel Fellowship care association organized the 2025 celebration on December 17. The plan set departure from Gongzheng Elementary School at 19:00 and the Zhongshan Park lighting ceremony at 20:30. There was an eight-metre tree, children dressed as angels, a choir and a pastor’s blessing, alongside disaster-preparedness education.
Another season needs its own date, tree design, route and programme. All event times below belong to 2025. In particular, 20:30 was the ceremony time on one evening, not a nightly show throughout the season.

Follow the route or wait at the park?
The 2025 route followed this sequence: Gongzheng Elementary School, Gongzheng Road, Zhongzheng Road, Section 3 of Zhongshan Road, Xingdong Road and Zhongshan Park. A moving parade does not reach every street corner at its departure time.
For the start, use the school area and remain in designated pedestrian space. For the tree, eat first and head to the park. Families with a stroller need not keep pace with the vehicles, particularly where spectators and night-market visitors meet. A safe fixed position is more useful than trying to photograph every float from multiple locations.
Luodong Church’s group listed its parade activity at 18:30, while the street parade was due to depart at 19:00. People joining a church group should follow that group’s assembly instructions; spectators should follow the event and traffic directions for that evening. The two times are not evidence of a half-hour performance.
A different day for the charity fair
The church’s 2025 programme placed the charity fair on December 21 and the candlelight service on December 24. The daytime fair is a more manageable choice than a late lighting ceremony for some families. A service, by contrast, should be attended respectfully as worship rather than treated as an unrestricted photography session.
The fair’s name does not establish that food, games or goods were free. Prices and available places for activities cannot be carried over to another edition. Shopping, public-space viewing and church attendance require different expectations.
Arriving from Luodong Station
Compare Taipei–Yilan and Luodong transport before choosing a train or coach. The parade starting point was Gongzheng Elementary School at No. 199, Gongzheng Road. The tree destination was Luodong Zhongshan Park, not Luodong Sports Park or the similarly named park in Yilan City.
The night market surrounds Zhongshan Park, along Minsheng, Minquan, Gongyuan and Xingdong roads, within walking reach of Luodong railway station. Walk towards the town centre and night market, then follow the event entrance signs. A taxi can cover the last leg in heavy rain or for reduced mobility, with pickup outside any traffic restrictions.
Choose your return service before committing to an evening whose ceremony starts at 20:30. Daytime community buses should not be assumed to provide late-night event transport. Consult the wider Yilan Christmas calendar before combining towns: their float appearances are on different dates.
