Yuanlin Peace YA works best as a local evening added to a stay in Yuanlin: dinner, a community Christmas programme and the park setting. It is not another name for the large Baguashan light area. Decide whether you want a single evening’s performances or simply an illuminated tree before making a special journey.
Separate the 2025 programme from the 2024 decorations
The city office and churches’ 2025 Peace YA event at Yuanlin Park was scheduled for 20 December, 19:00–21:30. As of 22 October 2026, the next year-end date and programme have not been established.
The more detailed decoration theme belongs to the 2024 season. On 20 December 2024, the setting included an eight-metre tree and a wish house for handwritten blessing cards, alongside church performances, music and a parade. Do not expect the same decorations to return in 2025 or 2026 without a new announcement.

A current lighting-works notice changes autumn visits
As of 22 October 2026, park lighting and electrical-circuit works run from 29 September 2026, with completion expected by 30 November. Park power and night lighting are suspended during the works. This is a current access consideration, not a notice cancelling Christmas, and the expected completion date does not itself announce a festive display.
During that period, choose a daylight city visit rather than entering dark or restricted areas because an old photograph shows lights. For a December trip, check both the works update and a new Christmas announcement; they answer different questions.
Arrive at Yuanlin, not Changhua city
The destination is Yuanlin Park, not Changhua County Art Museum or Baiguoshan. The park’s Sanmin Street side is a useful orientation point. The city office at No. 18, Sanmin Street is a nearby reference, not a substitute for the event area.
Use Yuanlin railway station, then walk towards the central park according to current streets and event controls. Anyone with limited walking tolerance can take a taxi to a permitted drop-off near the Sanmin Street side and enter on foot. Specify “Yuanlin Park,” not merely “the Changhua Christmas tree.” Drivers should allow for parking and the final walk rather than expecting to stop beside the display.
Choose an event evening or a quieter display visit
For the organised programme, eat beforehand and select performances you can enjoy without rushing. For tree photographs alone, first establish the new display dates and lighting hours; the opening evening is not automatically the best choice. The 2024 wording extended only some decorations into March, not every feature in unchanged condition and certainly not the stage programme.
Yuanlin and Changhua city are separate urban areas, so avoid turning a short evening into repeated train journeys simply to collect trees. If based in Taichung, use the Taichung transport guide for the departure end and check the railway return separately. Compare Taichung’s Christmas options if a concentrated city walk suits you better, or the Taiwan Christmas guide for other formats.

Night lighting is suspended during the works, with completion expected by 30 November. Check the latest operational update before planning a night visit.
Do decorations lasting until March mean nightly performances?
