Mitsui Outlet Park Linkou’s Christmas experience makes more sense as a walk between two buildings than as a single tree stop. Its 2025 edition particularly suited Ultraman fans, families who enjoy interactive displays and visitors interested in retro Japanese scenery. It was not a substitute for a concert-led Christmas festival.
The 2025–26 winter edition, not the following Christmas
The Showa-themed Christmas edition formed part of a nationwide collaboration running from November 20, 2025 to March 1, 2026. That broad campaign period did not make every shop offer or character appearance continuous. Another Christmas season needs its own theme and dates; the old campaign end is not a new seasonal schedule.
The Showa merchandise-shop promotion was scheduled for November 20, 2025–January 4, 2026. Original Ultraman’s meet-and-greet was November 22, 2025 at 14:00; Ultraman Omega’s was January 25, 2026 at 14:00. A character-focused visit therefore required choosing a particular day, unlike a walk around the displays.
| Priority | 2025 location | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Eight-metre tree and giant Alien Baltan | Building II, second-floor outdoor south plaza | Not Building I’s central plaza |
| Showa station and interactive street scenes | Building I, ground-floor outdoor central plaza | Allow time for more than one photo |
| Ultra time corridor | Building I, ground-floor west fountain area | A separate stop from the central plaza |
| Showa merchandise shop | Building I central plaza | Its promotion ended January 4, before the wider campaign |
Two different kinds of Christmas scenery
The 2025 setting placed the eight-metre Hope of Light Christmas Tree in Building II, with life-size heroes and the five-metre Alien Baltan nearby. The searchlight interaction added a playful rescue mission rather than just another static backdrop. A wider photograph including the figures preserves the theme better than an isolated tree-top close-up.
Building I offered smaller-scale scenes to explore: a Showa-style station, nostalgic domestic furnishings and game-inspired installations. It rewarded looking at details rather than standing in one long queue for the main tree. The fictional station was scenery, not a transport facility; the merchandise shop should not be described as a food market; plan a proper meal separately.
For a tree-first outing, start in Building II and then move to Building I for the street scenes and dinner. For children chiefly interested in interacting with the displays, reverse that order and save the tree for later. This is a suggested walk based on the former layout, not a required one-way circuit. Any future edition could rearrange the locations.
A9 is the start of the last mile, not the tree itself
Building I is at 356 Wenhua 3rd Road, Section 1, and Building II at 123 Wenhua 2nd Road, Section 1, Linkou District. Allow an approximately five-minute walk from Airport MRT Linkou station, A9, to the mall. That estimate does not include finding the second-floor south plaza or using lifts with a stroller.
From Taipei, use the city transport guide to plan the transfer to the Airport MRT. A9 belongs to that system, not the central Taipei MRT network. Linkou and Banqiao are separate journeys when combining New Taipei Christmas events. Choose a Taipei accommodation area around the wider trip rather than changing hotels for one mall visit.
FAQ
Can I expect the same Ultraman setting another Christmas?
No. A campaign ending in March 2026 does not establish that the same characters and setting return the following Christmas.
Was the main tree in Building I?
No. The 2025 tree stood in Building II’s second-floor outdoor south plaza.
Were character appearances daily?
No. The 2025–26 appearances were November 22, 2025 and January 25, 2026, both at 14:00.
Does the five-minute walk end at the tree?
It is the operator’s station-to-mall estimate, not the full journey to the seasonal display.
