Tree viewing and stage programmes need different timing
A brief daytime or early-evening stop suits visitors interested in the tree’s form and decorations. For live music, use the individual programme date, not the store’s opening hours. The December 22 international performance happened in the afternoon, which mattered for visitors returning by HSR that evening.
Other listed activities included dance on December 7 and 27. The December 20 charity haircut event used the ground-floor vehicle-access area, not the main plaza, illustrating why a meeting point should be more specific than “outside the department store.”
The plaza also serves ordinary pedestrian traffic. Step back for a full-tree photograph without blocking entrances, and choose a position farther from speakers if children are sensitive to amplified sound. Shopping-point rewards and promotional card exchanges had separate conditions; they were not prerequisites for a simple tree-viewing stop.
Use the HSR BRT stop by the Chuiyang shopping area
The address is 726 Chuiyang Road, West District, Chiayi. HSR passengers can take the BRT to “Shin Kong Mitsukoshi–Far Eastern” and walk approximately two minutes. This is not the Christmas venue at Chiayi Park.
From conventional Chiayi railway station, choose a local service or taxi using the Chiayi transport guide and confirm the Chuiyang Road address. Travellers heading into the mountains the next day can check into a Chiayi hotel first and enjoy a lighter evening. Keep the next day’s journey to Alishan separate rather than carrying luggage around to chase a short performance.
