Jourdeness Castle’s 2025 Christmas programme combined artificial snow, a European-style setting and seasonal characters. It is in Dalin Township, Chiayi County, not beside Chiayi’s city-centre railway station. The final transfer matters as much as choosing a snow session.
Separate the 2025 winter programme from current conditions
The 2025 winter programme offered weekend artificial-snow sessions at 16:00 and 17:00 through February 22, 2026, with additional sessions at those times on December 24 and 25, 2025. These are historical sessions, not a fixed timetable for another season.
The Christmas party ran on December 20–21, 2025 for a Christmas buffet, mascot appearances, dancing and artificial snow. That two-day party was not a programme repeated every winter weekend. Another season needs its own snow schedule and party package; do not carry these old dates forward.
| Historical activity | 2025-season timing | What to distinguish |
|---|---|---|
| Weekend snow | 16:00 and 17:00, through February 22, 2026 | The wider winter programme |
| Christmas Eve and Christmas Day snow | December 24–25, 2025, at 16:00 and 17:00 | Special weekday additions |
| Dancing and mascot party | December 20–21, 2025 | Not every weekend |
| Christmas buffet | December 20–21; sittings at 11:00 and 12:40 | A separately booked meal |
Choose between snow photography and a character-focused outing
For castle-and-snow photographs, complete the transfer, toilet stop and refreshments before the session, then check the actual viewing area on arrival. Prepare cameras before the snow begins rather than unpacking in a crowd. Artificial snowfall does not mean cold-weather snow; children should not put foam or falling material in their mouths.
The two-day party better suited families whose priority was meeting characters. However, character appearances were not a daily fixture, so a general castle visit should not be treated as a guaranteed meet-and-greet. Separate “we want to see snow” from “we must meet the mascot” when deciding whether a special journey makes sense.
The 2024 winter setting featured illuminated Brian Garden Plaza, a Christmas tree, gifts, reindeer and a sleigh. Its weekend snow ran at 17:30–18:00 from November 30, 2024 to February 2, 2025, unlike the later season’s 16:00 and 17:00 sessions. Historical photographs are useful inspiration, but not a timetable for another year.
A former buffet package is not today’s admission fee
The 2025 party package offered a limited online adult lunch price of NT$999 and NT$399 for children aged three to twelve, with historical admission and gift-package benefits. That was a two-day dining offer, not the general price of watching snow.
Ordinary entry became free on April 1, 2026. Normal opening hours are 09:00–17:30, subject to changes for the day of your visit. Free entry does not make meals, workshops or possible future special events free, and it does not establish evening access for an old lighting programme. Any Christmas extension needs a separate seasonal timetable.
Use Dalin station plus a taxi for the final leg
The address is 15 Dapumei Industrial Park Third Road, Dalin Township. A taxi from Dalin railway station takes around 15 minutes, subject to traffic and waiting. From Chiayi HSR station, compare a direct taxi with travelling via central Chiayi and a local train to Dalin.
Arrange the return before the final snow session rather than assuming a car will appear immediately afterward. The Chiayi transport guide and HSR-to-railway-station connection help with the whole journey. Choose where to stay around the wider trip, not a non-refundable booking for an unannounced party.
FAQ
Can I reuse the 2025 winter snow timetable?
No. The 16:00 and 17:00 times above belong to the 2025 winter programme; another season needs its own timetable.
Is ordinary castle entry now free?
Ordinary entry became free on April 1, 2026, but food and separately charged activities are different.
Was NT$999 the snow-viewing ticket?
No. It was the limited adult buffet offer for December 20–21, 2025.
Is the castle a short walk from Dalin station?
A taxi transfer takes around 15 minutes, not a station-side walk.
