For an ordinary trip from Keelung to Heping Island, start with bus 101. Its 和平島公園 stop still leaves a walk to the geopark entrance. T99 reaches an entrance stop, but it does not operate every day throughout the year. If reducing walking matters, compare the actual day’s departures with a taxi rather than assuming the entrance service can handle both directions.

Choose your transport
| Option | Boarding and arrival | Best fit and limitation |
|---|---|---|
| City bus 101 | Keelung transfer station → 和平島公園, then walk | Default option; a final walking stage remains |
| T99 coastal sightseeing bus | Transfer station → geopark entrance stop | 2026 May–October holidays only; no weekdays |
| Taxi or arranged transfer | Agreed Keelung pickup → No.360 Ping 1st Road | Useful in rain or with mobility needs; arrange return |
| Zhengbin Harbour first | Harbour stop, then onward bus or walking | An additional stage, not the geopark entrance |
Start with a Heping Island-bound 101
After arriving at Keelung railway station, follow local signs to the transfer station and find 101 toward Heping Island. Nearby bus stops are spread around the station area; the train exit is not itself a guaranteed boarding bay. Leave time to cross streets and locate the correct sign. If you are already elsewhere downtown, check the current stop list for a convenient boarding point.
The operator lists variants through Zhongzheng Road and Xiangfeng Street. Check the direction and ask for 和平島公園. The published ordinary adult fare is NT$15, or NT$30 for two ordinary adult rides; concessions have separate conditions and park admission is extra. An endpoint’s last departure is not automatically the time the bus passes your stop.
The 101 stop is not the geopark gate
The park’s directions say to leave 101 at 和平島公園 and continue along Ping 1st Road to the entrance, at No.360. The similarly named 和平島 stop and T99’s geopark entrance stop are different places. Use the full destination name rather than riding to the end simply because the bus is labelled Heping Island.
For older relatives, pushchairs or wheelchairs, the final pavement and street crossings belong in the transport decision. Open the walking route linked by the park and judge it against your group’s needs. If you arrange a taxi to the entrance area, agree a legal, practical pickup point rather than a place that obstructs traffic. Identify the return stop before heading to the ticket office.
T99 is a dated seasonal option
For 2026, the official operating period is 1 May to 31 October, on weekends and public holidays only. There is no weekday service, and it is suspended in January–April and November–December. Check a new announcement for a different year. A route appearing on the park’s access page does not mean it runs on your travel date.
The 2026 origin departures are 09:30, 11:30, 13:30, 15:30 and 17:30 from Keelung, and 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 and 18:00 from Badouzi toward Keelung. Heping Island is intermediate, so those are not park-stop boarding times. Sightseeing detours and waiting may outweigh the shorter walk. Do not infer an evening return from the fact that the park is still open.
Treat Zhengbin Harbour as a separate stop
If you want the colourful waterfront as well as the geopark, plan a distinct Zhengbin Harbour stop. The 101 sequence includes Zhengbin Road junction and Heping Bridge, while T99 lists a harbour stop. Choose the stop for your intended waterfront position and walking route. The harbour photo area is not the geopark entrance, and continuing on foot is another part of the journey.
One workable approach is the park first, then Zhengbin on the way back if the weather and energy level remain good. If harbour photography is the main goal, reverse those priorities and add the park only when time permits. Families do not need to walk every connecting section; use a suitable bus or taxi instead. Keep photography clear of bridge traffic and narrow roads.
Separate bus fares, admission and private transport
A long-duration pass is unnecessary solely for a simple 101 return journey. If you already hold a valid pass, check its coverage, but do not assume any attraction bundle includes both the buses and entry. Ordinary geopark admission also should not be read as permission for a controlled rock area or an Alabao Bay activity.
A taxi can reduce the final walk and be useful for a group in rain. When asking for a quote, provide the actual pickup point, No.360 Ping 1st Road, passenger count and equipment dimensions. Establish whether the price is metered, a one-way quote or a vehicle with waiting included. Paying for an outward trip does not reserve the return; agree that separately if you intend to leave late.
Build the return around your onward journey
For a half-day visit, first choose when you want to be back in central Keelung, then allow time for the visit and walk to the bus. Use 101 toward the transfer station, or verify both T99’s operating day and its passing time at the park. Continuing to Taipei requires another connection, so add time for reaching downtown, finding the next service and collecting bags.
This is an exposed coastal outing. Wind, rain, waves and local controls can change which areas are open. Check both park notices and bus operation before leaving; an operating bus does not guarantee access to pools, rock areas or every path. In poor weather, a city-based visit may be the better choice. Wheelchair users should confirm the bus vehicle and usable park route separately.
Route information before you travel
Open the official route information and transport map. Recheck your date, direction and exact boarding stop before departure.
Once transport is settled, compare park admission. This product is a geopark ticket, not a return transfer. Follow the selected ticket’s redemption instructions and access restrictions.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a boat to reach Heping Island?
No. Buses 101 and T99 reach it by road from Keelung. Do not confuse this journey with an offshore-island boat excursion.
Which stop should I request on 101?
Use 和平島公園, then follow Ping 1st Road to the entrance as directed by the park. Showing the full Chinese stop name is useful.
Does 101 stop at the ticket office?
The official directions include a walk. For less walking, compare T99 on an operating date with a taxi arranged to a practical entrance-area point.
Does T99 run all year?
No. Its 2026 service is weekends and public holidays from 1 May to 31 October, with weekdays and other months suspended. Check a new notice for later years.
Can I board T99 at the park at 18:00?
The published 18:00 time is a departure from Badouzi, not the park’s passing time. Check the park stop and direction before waiting.
What is the adult return fare on 101?
Two ordinary NT$15 adult rides total NT$30. Other transport and park admission are extra; concession eligibility is separate.
Can I include Zhengbin Harbour?
Yes, with a separate stop and onward walk or bus ride. It is not the same entrance, so preserve enough time for the return to Keelung.
Does admission include Alabao Bay?
Do not assume ordinary entry includes Alabao Bay or controlled rock areas. Check the booking rules and inclusions for the specific activity you want.
Should I go if buses run despite rain?
Check actual park access and coastal conditions too. Transport operating does not make every part of the park suitable; consider a city visit in poor weather.
Is a taxi return automatically easy?
It is predictable only when arranged. Confirm the meeting point, time, passenger count and equipment, plus whether waiting or only a one-way ride is included.
