Tai-Yi Farm is a daytime Christmas option: gardens, family activities and a meal in one place, rather than an evening light festival. It suits visitors already in Puli who want a manageable half-day with children. If your main goal is a large illuminated tree after dinner, choose a different type of outing.
What the 2025 Red and Green Party actually offered
The party ran on 20–28 December 2025. That edition offered clothing-based admission discounts, weekday treasure hunting, weekend ring toss and meal-and-DIY packages. This is a look back at 2025; another season needs its own dates and offers. The old clothing promotion is not a current ticket entitlement.
General admission and an activity package should be treated as different purchases. Before choosing a family package, check the materials, meal, age suitability and booking requirement. A group interested mainly in the gardens need not buy every experience to make the visit worthwhile.
| Main interest | Sensible choice | Confirm separately |
|---|---|---|
| Gardens and a relaxed walk | Ordinary daytime visit | Current admission and open areas |
| A workshop and lunch | Build around the booked package | Ages, reservations and inclusions |
| Strawberry picking | A conditional extra | Crop, weather and same-day access |
| Christmas photographs | Gardens and seasonal settings | Do not assume an evening show |
The 2025 description made strawberry picking conditional on suitable circumstances. It was not guaranteed every day. Seasonal flowers and tree colour are also variable, so ask about the crop before promising a child that picking will be the highlight.
Getting beyond Puli town
The address is No. 176, Section 1, Zhongshan Road, Puli Township, Nantou County. Options include Nantou Bus from Taichung HSR to Puli and a Qingjing-bound service stopping at Tai-Yi. Check the operating-day timetable and stop pattern, including the return; a useful outbound service does not automatically give you a convenient journey home.
With a stroller, workshop creations or several passengers, reaching Puli and taking a taxi to the full address is a straightforward alternative. Arrange the return before entering. Drivers can take the approach from the Puli end of National Freeway 6 onto Provincial Highway 14 towards Wushe; there is no reason to travel through Qingjing first.
A daylight half-day, not a rushed lake circuit
The ordinary garden hours used for this 2025-season review were 08:00–17:00. Those are normal venue hours, not a promise of extended Christmas 2026 opening. Start with two to three hours for a walk, a simple activity and breaks, then extend around a booked meal or workshop. This is an editorial planning allowance.
Do the most time-sensitive booked activity first and let the garden walk fit around it. In poor weather, shorten the outdoor part rather than assuming every activity has an indoor substitute. Suitable walking shoes and a bag that protects a child’s finished craft are more useful than trying to visit every photo corner.
For a wider trip, use the Taichung-to-Sun Moon Lake guide to plan the separate transfer. The lake’s main activities deserve their own time, especially for a boat ride or cycling. Compare lake accommodation areas before deciding where to sleep, and use the Taiwan Christmas overview if you would rather choose a night-time event.
FAQ
Does red or green clothing still earn a discount?
The offer belonged to 20–28 December 2025. Use a new promotion for a future visit, not the old photograph or discount description.
Is strawberry picking included automatically?
No. The historical description made it conditional. Check the crop and whether picking is included in the admission or package you choose.
Can I arrive after dinner to see lights?
The garden hours in this review end at 17:00. Only a separate evening programme would justify treating it as a night attraction.
